Richard Cornelious Mixon

DURHAM Mr. Richard Cornelious “R.C.” Mixon, 87, of Durham, died on Sunday, March 03, 2013.Mr. Mixon was born in Toombs County, Ga., to the late George Wiley Mixon and Lillie Rachel Mixon. He served in the U. S. Army and was a retired self-employed plumber. She was preceded in death by his siblings, L.K. Mixon, Mary Lou Mixon Dowd, Bo Mixon, Medford Mixon, Leo Mixon Malone, Roberta Mixon Urbanski, Thadys T. Mixon and Evelyn Mixon Bryant.He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Ann Cox Mixon; one son, Richard E. Mixon of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Jack Edward Mixon and wife, Bernice of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Hazel Exley and husband, Charles of Savannah Ga.; two grandchildren, Devin and Jarred Mixon and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. J. B. Ellis. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his caregiver, Jeanette Hill, 3011 University Station Road Flowers are acceptable.
