DURHAM Mr. Richard Everett Clayton, 61, of 1809 Baylor Street, died on Thursday, February 12, 2015.
Mr. Clayton was a native and lifelong resident of Durham. He was a car painter and worked in construction as a handyman. He was a good cook that was known for his jovial personality. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vada Capps Clayton and brother, Stephen Clayton.
He is survived by his son, Chad Abbott of Creedmoor; his father, Arthur Clayton of Durham; sister, Janice Harris of Bailey, NC; two nieces, Amanda Harris and Diane Tackney; great-nieces, Morgan Jones, Caitlin Tackney and Camryn Tackney.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Tim McCreight will officiate. Burial will be in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 to 11 am, before the service at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1809 Baylor St. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
