Richard Lane “Wimpy” Ferrell

DURHAM Mr. Richard Lane “Wimpy” Ferrell, 83, of Durham, died on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
Mr. Ferrell was a born in Wake County, the son of the late Excell O. Ferrell and Gillie Hopson Ferrell. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Ferrell was a member of the Durham Masonic Lodge 352 and Sudan Temple. He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl S. Ferrell and sisters, Nona Anderson and Clara Brands.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Norton Ferrell; one son, Donald Lane Ferrell and wife, Cara of Yeadon, Pa.; sister, Lanell Inscoe of Durham and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lowes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Woodrow Freeze will officiate. Masonic Rites will conducted by Mr. Arthur Byrd.
