Richard Lyon Stone

FRANKLINTON- Mr. Richard Lyon Stone, 63, passed away on September 21, 2021.

Mr. Stone was born December 7, 1957, to the late William and Ruby Stone in Durham, NC. Richard loved going to the beach and enjoyed playing music as a disk jockey, which he was known as “DJ Rockin’ Rick.” He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. Richard will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brother, Billy Stone; and grandson, Kevin Carmichael, Jr.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Pam T. Stone; daughter, Jessica Carmichael (Kevin) of Mebane, NC; step-daughters, Amanda Thompson of Creedmoor, NC and Jessica McKeon (Keith) of Fuquay Varina, NC; and his grandchildren, whom he adored, Lucas Carmichael, Bryson Carmichael, Mackenzie Thompson, Jaxson McKeon, and Kaleb McKeon.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Al Beaman, Kaleb McKeon, David Thompson, Jr., Alex Podobinski, Jason Goehring, and Ron Barnette. Serving as honorary Pallbearer will be Johnny Shanahan.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 26^th, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Officiating will be Reverend Hugh O’Shields. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. The family requests that all guests wear casual attire.
