Rita Joann Harward

DURHAM   Mrs. Rita Joann Harward, 72, of 3101 Wedgedale Drive, died on Tuesday, July 07, 2015.

Mrs. Harward was born in Durham to the late Clyde D. Scoggins, Sr. and Loreene Farrell Scoggins. She was a graduate of Durham High School and worked at White Star Laundry for over 20 years and in the dry cleaning business for over 30 years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved her grandbabies and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Spilak; son, Wesley Harward and brother, Clyde “Skipper” Scoggins.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years of  marriage, Bobby Harward; three sons, Chris Harward, Keith Harward and Kevan Harward; five stepchildren, Carolyn Page, Nancy Tyner, Donna Weaver, Jimmy Harward and Becky Flores; brother, Michael Scoggins; grandchildren, Stephanie Byrd and Megan Harward; 11 step-grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Dr. Rick Finley will officiate.
