Robert Edward Ferrell

FERRELLTIMBERLAKE Mr. Robert Edward Ferrell, 68, of Timberlake, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011.Mr. Ferrell was a native of Durham, the son of the late John Edward and Elizabeth Ardella James Ferrell. He served in the U. S. Navy and National Guard. He retired after 20 years from the American Tobacco Company as a Pipefitter. He was a member of Mt Zion United Methodist Church in Hurdle Mills. He was the 5th District Commander of the American Legion, as well as the Commander for Post 138 in Roxboro. He was Commander of the year 2010 of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a son, David Ferrell.He is survived by his wife, Linda Ferrell; two sons, Douglas Ferrell and wife, Kristine of Bahama, Christian Ferrell and wife Stephanie of Durham; two daughters, Wanda Gordon and husband Rev. Norman Gordon of Bahama and Beverly Starcher of Burlington; brother, Michael Ferrell and wife, Charlene of Timberlake; grandchildren, Brittany Ferrell, David Ferrell, Nicole Ferrell, William Ferrell, Sierra Ferrell, Jessica Paradis (James), Emily Gordon and Chelsea Champion and two great-grandchildren, Elayna Cevallos and Chloe Paradis. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Edward Bogie. Interment with military honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
