Robert Caswell Sandling, III

DURHAM- Mr. Robert Caswell Sandling, III, 77, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Duke Regional Hospital.Mr. Sandling was born July 22, 1941 to the late Robert and Vida Sandling in Granville County. He was a Manager at IBM for many years where he retired. Mr. Sandling enjoyed camping and was a NASCAR fan. He loved the beach and was an avid Carolina fan. Mr. Sandling loved his family and pets Alexis and Bella. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.Mr. Sandling is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vida Sandling; brothers, Victor and James Sandling; sister, Joyce Ann Jenkins.Mr. Sandling is survived by his wife Mary Anne Sandling; daughters, Kimberly Sandling Scoggins (Bradley) of Oxford, NC, Tammy Sandling Butler of Creedmoor, NC; grandchildren, Ashleigh Scoggins, Jessica Thomas (Vincent), Jacob Butler; great-granddaughter, Kailyn Thomas.Pallbearers will be Jacob Butler, Vincent Thomas, Jeff Sandling, Jason Sandling, Jason Cash and Glenn Elliott. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bradley Scoggins.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor David Chambers. Burial will follow at Creedmoor Cemetery. A visitation will be held one-hour prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
