Robert Wayne Joyner

Mr. Robert “Wayne” Joyner, 85, of Durham, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Duke University Hospital.

Mr. Joyner was born July 31, 1937, in Nash County, N.C. to the late William Guy and Blanche Edwards Joyner which precede him in death.

Wayne was a classic car lover and a charter member of the Bull City Street Rod Association. Wayne loved riding with his son Mike in his tow truck. He worked for the Durham County Tax Office for 20 years and later he owned and operated Durham Discount Auto Sales. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Joyner is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita Adcock Joyner; son, Michael Wayne Joyner (Christie Cheek) of Durham; sister, Joan Joyner Morgan of Butner, NC; niece, Sandra Morgan Channa (Mohan) and great niece, Anjelica Channa all of Madison, MS; and his dog Daisy.

A graveside service will be held at the Free Union FWB Church Cemetery in Spring Hope, NC on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Associate Pastor Derek Ketner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the Bull City Street Rod Association in Wayne’s memory.
