Roberta Hess Davis

Roberta Hess Davis, 70, of Durham, passed away on February 20, 2023, at Duke University Hospital. Roberta was born February 27, 1952, in Miami FL to the late Donald P. and Jean Thorpe Hess. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Davis, Sr. and three siblings, James Hess, Patricia Windbigler, and Donna Hess.

Roberta is survived by three sons, Gerald “Jerry” (Evelina) Davis of Holly Springs, NC, Robert Davis of Durham, and Jonathan Davis (Jennifer) of Jacksonville, FL.; sisters, Sandi Hess Snider, Patricia (Bob) Martin, and Jane Reed; grandchildren, Vanessa Davis, Landon Davis, Christian Davis, and Cassie Davis; several nieces and nephews.

Passioned by people, Roberta knew no strangers. She loved board games, good music, and laughing. From thoughtful, hand-written letters to her inspiring, contagious smile, there was nothing impersonal or disingenuous about her. She had an unflinching faith her entire life, that God was with her.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Fellowship Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Rick Finley.
