Roderick Lamont Wyman was born on November 29, 1972, in Jacksonville, NC. He peacefully entered his eternal rest on Saturday, October 15, 2022, after a challenging time with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Lovingly created in the union of Edward James Wyman, Sr. and Margaret Geneva Wilcox of Yemassee, S.C., he completed the family of 7.
Roderick was preceded in death by his parents, and a dear brother, Edward James Wyman, Jr. (Melvina) of Hubert, NC.
Roderick grew up and served in the church at Marshall Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and graduated from White Oak High School C/O 1991. He’s a former employee of the City of Jacksonville and was a car detail Manager in Greenville, NC. He moved to Durham, NC in 2011. He loved family, sports, adventure and good eating! His motto for life was it’s a treasure to discover!
Roderick leaves to cherish his memories, daughter Breann Desiree Wyman, a senior at North Carolina Central University in Durham, majoring in Public Health Education and her mother Brennetta Wyman of Jacksonville, NC. Three sisters: Cynthia Burns (Lee) of California, Audrey Jones (Emmick) of Jacksonville, and Doris (Bobby) of Durham, NC. A Sister-in-Love, Melvina and six nephews, two nieces, 13 great-nephews and nieces plus a host of loving cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday October 22, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Johnson and Pastor Deonte Whitehead.
Flowers are acceptable.
