Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Allen, Sr. passed away Wednesday February 12, 2025. Mr. Allen was born in King and Queen County, VA to the late Jesse Robert and Margaret Parrish Allen.

He is also preceded in death by his wife Clydia Smith Allen; son Ronald Wayne “Mackie” Allen, Jr.; brothers Linwood E. Allen and Julius R. Allen.

He is survived by sons, Jody Ray Allen of Durham and Richard John “Rich” Chavis (Mandy) of Creedmoor; daughter Buffy Allen Pearce (Chad) also of Creedmoor; brother, Ricky G. Allen (Wanda); Grandchildren, Dustin Allen (Lauren), Hunter Allen, Morgan Wagoner (Hunter), Haylee Allen, Skylar Chavis, Cameron Pearce (Niki), Hayden Allen, Bailey Pearce and Bracy Chavis; great grandchildren, Addison, Haven, Alaina, Emma, Presley and Kellen; sisters-in-law, Donna Allen and Jane Allen.

Ronnie’s working career began at age 13 when he quit school to help the family which eventually led to buying his parents a house and doing his best to help provide for them. He served his country in the US Army.

Ronnie went on to be a self made man, living big and loving large. He never missed an opportunity to encourage and help where he could. Not only family but friends and even strangers. He became a natural giver of his love and time. He and his “beautiful bride”, Clydia, lived out a true love story. They enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, playing golf and the beach.

Although dementia took away much of his life, he was still able to give the most humble wink and a sweet grin. Ronnie was afforded the best care. His caregivers exemplifying the greatest standard of not only care but the truest sense of love. Doing their very best to help him “live” out his final days. In a sense, Ronnie had “paid it forward”.

If Ronnie were here today, he’d tell you that kindness matters, family matters and that love is the greatest gift we can give. He would tell you all the ways the Lord has worked on his behalf. He would tell you that in the end, all that matters is knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior. John 3:16

A visitation will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Reverend Greg Allison.
