Ronald Lewis “Ronnie” Thompson

Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” Lewis Thompson, 74, passed away on June 3, 2022.

Ronnie was born November 12, 1947, to the late William Allen Thompson, Jr. and Hilda Britt. Mr. Thompson was a faithful member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church and loved the fellowship of his church family. He enjoyed golfing, classic movies, gardening and playing cards. Ronnie was an avid fan of Duke Blue Devils basketball and football. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Allen Thompson, Sr. and Lenora “Mama” Thompson (a.k.a. “Granny”), who raised him from a very young age; and son-in-law, Ronald Wayne Whitt, Jr.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his lifelong friend and loving wife of 19 years, Miriam F. Thompson; daughters, Christie Whitt and Nicole Moreno (Emilio); brothers, James “Jimmy” R. Pulley, Robert Thompson, and R. Keith Thompson; grandchildren, Kayla (Brooke), Kedan (Katherine), Nickolas, and Christian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Durham Memorial Baptist Church with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Rob Stone and Rev. Chris Otto.
