Rone D. Davis

DURHAM Mr. Rone D. Davis, 62, of Durham, died on Saturday, January 5, 2013.Rone was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Elemish D. Davis and Lois M. Perry Davis. For many years he was a Courier for the Durham Public Schools. He was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church. Rone was an avid Duke fan. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Susan Davis Hamel.Rone was the last living member of his immediate family.Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Durham Memorial Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Ed Denton. Visitation will be held in the Family Life Center at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. before the service.Pallbearers will be Charlie McNeill, Chester, Rives, Chuck McLean, Tim Marbrey, Donnie Seymore, Randy Smith, Craig Herndon, Jim Matthews Art Holland and Jeffrey Husin. and Honorary pallbearers will be the Durham Memorial Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.Private Burial will be in the Stoney Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
