DURHAM Mr. Roy Marion Watson, 92, of Durham, died on Monday, October 9, 2017.Mr. Watson was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late William Henry Watson and Nannie Blackwood Watson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines, serving during World War II. He retired from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company as a Fixer. He was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lois Foushee Watson and brothers and sisters, Coy, Eddie, Myrtle, Bea, Flora, Nan, Viola, Foy and Margie Lee.He is survived by his son, Terry Watson and wife, Tammy of Garner; two daughters, Tina Watson Colbert of Raleigh and Sallie Foushee Riley and husband, Dale of Mebane; three brothers, Clifton Watson, Bobby Watson both of Durham and Jimmy Watson and wife, Ester of LaGrange; three sisters, Nonie Rose and Mabel Laws both of Durham and Catherine Bowling and husband, Bobby of Granville Co.; grandchildren, Tyler Colbert, Todd Colbert, Colton Watson, Kaylyn Watson and two great-grandchildren, Ainslee and Aniston Colbert.Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Dr. Gerald Goodwin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
