DURHAM Mrs. Ruby Lee Williams, 80, of Durham, died on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. She had been living at Carver Living Center for over 9 years.
Mrs. Williams was a native of Wake County, the daughter of the late Harold E. Rudd and Estelle Ray Rudd. She retired from Life of Georgia Insurance Company formerly known as Southland Life Insurance Company, after 35 years. Ruby was a devout and faithful Christian. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known her. She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin Junior Williams; son, Floyd Thomas Williams and brother, Eugene E. Rudd.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Lee Williams and his 2 children and their 3 children; Tammy W. Carden and husband, William “Todd” Carden; sister, Katherine Rudd Mann and husband, Gordon; grandchildren, Jessica Mogan Rochelle and Erica Dawn Rochelle; great-grandchildren, Nathan Rigsbee, Anderson Rigsbee and other loving family members.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Johnny Hewett will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
