Ruth Bolick Glenn

GLENNDURHAM Ruth Bolick Glenn of Durham, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. She was born May 20, 1926 in Gaston County to the late Elmore Emmitt and Mary Nettie Bolick. She spent her childhood years in the Trenton Mill area of Gastonia. Ruth was known as a sweet woman whose joy in life was her family and friends. An avid gardener, all-state softballer, and champion bowler, she led a very active life. Ruth was preceded in death by husband, B.E. Glenn, daughter Frances Bolick, brother Elmore Emmitt Bolick Jr, two sisters, Sue Givens and Nell Bolick.She leaves to cherish her memory her brother Wilson Bolick and wife Dorothy of Gastonia NC; 3 grandchildren LeAnne Hunt and husband, Robert of Franklinton NC, Jay Johnson and wife, Greta of Cumming GA, Greg Johnson of Youngsville NC ; Great-grandchildren Jennifer Hunt,Hayley Johnson, Matthew Hunt, Lauren Johnson, Logan Johnson, and Lindsey Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Shannon Conklin-Miller. Interment will be in Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 5 p.m., prior to the service at Hudson Funeral Home.The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff and employees of Hospice of Wake County and Blue Ridge Health Care Center.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
