Araleta Ruth Ange Brewer

DURHAM- Ms. Araleta Ruth Ange Brewer, 90, passed away, Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center.Ms. Brewer was born April 18, 1929 to the late James and Ruby Ange in Durham, NC. She was known as Ms. Woolworth where she retired after 50 years of serving Durham. Ms. Brewer loved God and was a member for 75 years at Church of God of Prophecy. She joined when she was 15 years old. Ruth loved her sisters, family and church members. Ms. Brewer loved to sing at church and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed going to theme parks with the youth group and she rode all the roller coasters. Ruth was a very giving and gracious person and helped bring smiles to so many people over the years. Ruth will be remembered as “The Real Deal” never wavering.Ms. Brewer is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby Ange; son, Leroy “Bunkey” Brewer in 2003; brothers, J.P. Ange and David Ange, sister, Jean Pulliam.Ms. Brewer is survived by her siblings, Marlene Dorman, Faye Ange, Clyde Ange (Joan), Gerald Ange (Faye); son, Timmy Brewer and other loving family members and friends.Pallbearers will be Kevin Brinn, Mike Clark, Jamie Dorman, Ronnie Funderburk, Brandon Oakley and Steven Oakley. Honorary Pallbearer, Timmy Brewer.A visitation will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 from 11:30 am to 1:00 p.m. at RTP Community Church, 1727 Ed Cook Road, Durham, NC 27703. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Devon Blanton, Senior Pastor.
