Ruth Laneigh Parker Myers

DURHAM- Mrs. Ruth Laneigh Parker Myers, 77, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Myers was born December 19, 1942 to the late William and Janie Parker in Erwin, NC. She was a Quality Inspector at IBM for 13 years. Mrs. Myers will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Myers is preceded in death by her parents, William and Janie Parker; sons, Michael Benton and Randall Benton; brothers, Willie Parker and Joe Parker; sisters, Vestal Vinson, Eloise Ammons, Esterline Byrd and Janice Bowden.

Mrs. Myers is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gregory W. Myers, Sr.; son, Jeffrey D. Benton and wife Angel K. Benton; half-sisters, Jean Ward (Larry), Kay Addison and Gail Toler; grandchildren, Cassie Benton, Jeffrey D. Benton, Jr., Brittany Benton; great-granddaughter, Abbie Ross.

Family will receive friends Monday, December 21, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
