Samuel Macon Knight, Jr.

KNIGHT JR.DURHAM Mr. Samuel Macon Knight, Jr., 52, of 810 S. Mineral Spring Road, died on Thursday, July 21, 2011.Mr. Knight was employed with the Durham Public School Transportation as a Mechanic. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Knight, Sr.He is survived by his wife, Jennifer McFalls Knight; his mother, Patsy Hutchins of Chapel Hill; one son, Kyle Knight of Newport; one daughter, Crystal Knight of Durham; two brothers, Charles Knight of Durham and Ralph Powell of Danville, Va.; two sisters, Deborah Hite of Boydton, Va. and Teresa “Terri” Knight of Chapel Hill; three grandchildren, Ashton Clifton, Christion Clifton and Mike Senters. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12 noon at the Orange United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Ken Hall. Pallbearers will be Tim Crabtree, York Woody, Alfred Snipes, Freddy Rogers, Larry Coppock, Herk Myers, Waylon Smith and Rex Temple. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Durham Public Schools Transportation Dept., Fred Banks, Paco Green, George Painter, Willy Williams, Todd Simme, Ronald Johnson, Chris Cash, Mike Joyner, Curtis Wright, Tony Leak, Lenny Newton, Tommy Smith and Frank Torain.The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and other times at the home of his mother, Patsy Hutchins, 905 Homestead Road in Chapel Hill.Flowers are acceptable.
