Sandra Louise Pope

DURHAM- Sandra Louise Pope, 67, of  Durham died on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. She was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Howard Rudd and Annie Roberson Rudd. Sandra loved her family and was a spiritual and devout Christian of deep faith. She loved to cook, read, sew and could repair anything. Sandra took pride in her children and encouraged them to climb for the stars.  She was tremendously proud of  her granddaughter. Sandra will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, best friend and second mom to her son-in law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Norman Pope, brother, Melvin Rudd, sisters, Shirley Rudd Hernandez, Joyce Rudd, Janet Rudd Sauls and Frances Rudd Carpenter.

She is survived by her children, Dorie Pope Stephens and husband Thomas,  and Tommy Wayne Pope; granddaughter, Brandy Elizabeth Eggleston; 3 step-grandchildren and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Pulley will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
