Sarah “Polly” Catherine Chambers, 79, of Hillsborough, NC., was born December 17, 1941 to Noland Davis Parham and Sarah Elizabeth Eason. She was born in Dinwiddie, VA. She departed this life to be with Jesus on November 4, 2021.
In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her sister, Christine Thompson.
Sarah is survived by her 3 children, Douglas Wayne Martin (Laura) of Apex, NC, Lisa Chambers Thomas (Jeff) of Hillsborough, NC, and Tammy Chambers Perry (Kevin) of Hillsborough, NC; her 8 grandchildren, Sarah, Samantha, Doug Jr., Frederick, Bryson, Brooklynn, Taylor, and Ally; 3 great-grandchildren, Mila, Ava, and Adalyn; her siblings, Estelle Hogan, Rebecca Godwin, Paulette McFalls (Garland), Noland Parham (Rebecca), Virginia Boone, and Phillip Parham (Teresa); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was loved so dearly!
She was a dedicated employee of Red Lobster in Durham, NC off of Chapel Hill Blvd., for 28 years. Sarah was an amazing and loving mom (and dad!). She adored her three children so much. The highlight of her day was sitting in her favorite chair by the window watching her birds eat from their birdhouse. She loved watching Lifetime and Hallmark movies. Her children and siblings will miss her calling them daily, which meant 10 times daily! She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church at 2013 Ellis Road in Durham, NC. While her siblings worked hard in the tobacco field, she sat under the tree and said “I’m not working in that field, I’m going to Hollywood!” When planes would fly low, she’d run after them and yell, “take me to Hollywood!” While she never made it to Hollywood, she sure made it to heaven.
