Shirley Norton Ferrell

Mrs. Shirley Norton Ferrell, 87, passed away Monday October 10, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. Ferrell was born May 31, 1935, in Erwin, NC to the late Aaron Norton and Mable Strickland Norton. Shirley was a longtime member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She worked at IBM Corporation as a Financial Analyst for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 177. She will be remembered as a loving friend and neighbor.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard “Wimpy” Ferrell; son, Donald L. Ferrell; brothers, Billy S. Norton and Michael Norton.

Mrs. Ferrell is survived by grandchildren, Nina Ann Ferrell and Derrick Ferrell; and three great- grandchildren; caretaker, Aileen Thomas and other friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be held at Hudson Funeral Home on Friday October 14, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m.  October 15, 2022, at Lowes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Woody Freeze.

Flowers are acceptable to be placed in her memory at the church on Sunday.
