Steven Edward Sykes

DURHAM- Mr. Steven Edward Sykes, 51, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Sykes was born October 5, 1969 to the late Aretus and Patsy Sykes in Durham, NC. He was a salesman for Taylor-Morrison and American Craftsmen. Mr. Sykes was an avid gardener, farmer, hunter and fisherman. He will be remembered as a loving father and friend to many.

Mr. Sykes is preceded in death by his parents, Aretus and Patsy Sykes; brother, Gary Sykes.

Mr. Sykes is survived by his fiancé, Lisa Sykes; children, Kristen Sykes, fiancé, Logan Avant, Jacob Sykes, Jessica Sykes and Skyler Pitts-Sykes; sister, Lu Ann Sykes; grandson, Landon Avant; nephew, Shane Sykes and several other loving family members.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2020, Outdoors at Leesville Road Baptist Church, 6211 Leesville Rd. **Please Note due to Covid 19 Restrictions, up to 50 people are allowed, however, any number over 50 must remain in their vehicle**

In Celebration of Steve’s life a Bon Fire will be held that same evening at the Sykes’ residence at 8:00 P.M.
