CHAPEL HILL- Susan “Sue” Eileen Roth Feldman, 74, died peacefully at her home in Chapel Hill, NC on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.
Sue was born on March 15, 1942, daughter of the late Benjamin and Annette Roth.
Sue was a native of New Jersey and spent most of her life there. She met her husband Arthur in Syracuse, NY while pursuing a degree in nursing at Syracuse University School of Nursing. Sue later graduated with a Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Sue was a respected mental health center administrator at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey for 25 years. Sue retired to North Carolina in 2008.
Sue was a devoted mother and grandmother who was greatly admired by her friends and family. She was a wonderful baker and cook, who loved reading, taking long walks and enjoying meals with family and friends. Sue valued hard work, lifelong learning, commitment to family as well as wisdom and humor.
Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Dr. Arthur Feldman and by her brothers, Warren Roth and Richard Roth.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Elise Feldman Dennis of Durham, NC and her adoring son, Robert Scott Feldman of Sudbury, MA, as well as by her son-in-law John Charles Dennis; her daughter-in-law, Gabriella Feldman; and her six grandchildren, Dylan, Juliet, Zachary, Alec, Austin and Lucy.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Judea Reform Congregation Cemetery, 2560 Jones Ferry Road Chapel Hill, NC 27516. Officiating will be Rabbi Larry Bach.
