Mrs. Susan Seagroves Askue, 63, of Durham passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Carver Living Center.
Mrs. Askue was born January 1, 1959, in Durham, NC to the late Stanley Seagroves and Louise Seagroves who survives her.
Mrs. Askue worked many years as an Accounting Clerk. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing in the choir, decorating for the holidays, crafting, baking, and doing for others. She had a big soft spot for animals, children, and people in need. Through all of her physical adversities she still greeted everyone with a smile. She was quick witted and could always make you laugh. She never met a stranger and loved helping others. She will forever be missed but always in our hearts. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband Bill Askue.
Susan is survived by her son; Steven Cox (Jessica); daughter, Nichole Alston (Rodney); mother, Louise Seagroves; sister, Debbie Crisp (Phillip) of Banner, KY; grandchildren, Jordan, Cameron and Alexis; and her pet cat companion Thumper.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel.
Officiating will be Reverend Tyler Robertson.
The family would like to thank Regina “Gina” Nash for being Susan’s best friend and caretaker for many years. My family would also like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for all the support Transitions LifeCare rendered to my mom during her time on hospice care. You made my moma’s last days much brighter and comfortable up until her passing. For that we are very grateful and appreciative. In addition, the family would like to thank the staff at Carver Living Center for their loving care during Mrs. Askue’s residency there.
Flowers are acceptable or donations to a local SPCA or to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607. www.transitionslifecare.org.
