DURHAM Miss Teresa Darnean Parrish, 56, of Durham, died on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
Miss Parrish was a native and lifelong resident of Durham. She retired from the Durham County Sheriff Department as a 911 Dispatcher. She had a big heart, a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Thurlon Parrish; brothers, Timothy Brett Parrish and Charles Lynn Parrish
She is survived by her mother, Jewel Bailey Parrish; fiancé, Barry Hargis; two brothers, Tommy Parrish (Donna) and Ken Parrish (Nan); nieces, Brittany Nagla, Marissa Parrish, Erica C. Carpenter; nephew, Brandon Parrish and several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October, 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Denver Shelton will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Sheriff Mike Andrews, Chief Deputy Donald Ladd, Ret. Sheriff Worth Hill, Sgt. Dwayne McDougald, Ret. Lt. Bobby Perry and Ret. Lt. Mike Williams.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to the St. Judes Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
