Thelma Gregory Wheeler

DURHAM- Thelma Gregory Wheeler, 96, of Durham went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 26, 2015. She was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Edward Gregory and Melinda Rogers Gregory. Thelma was a homemaker. She attended the Gospel Center/Grove Park Chapel and more recently attended Olive Branch Baptist Church until her declining health. Thelma attended Durham Public Schools, spent most of her life raising her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by everyone blessed to have known her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Pope Wheeler; five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her children, John Wheeler and wife Rose, Marcia Wheeler, Jane Scarborough and Tim Wheeler and wife Sheree; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Reverend Tim Wheeler will officiate. Private burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
