DURHAM- Mrs. Thelma Louise Tyler, 81, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Duke University Medical Center.Mrs. Tyler was born February 12, 1936 in Rowland, NC. She worked as a Paralegal and was a disability advocate committed to helping the disabled receive their deserved disability benefits. Louise was a founding member of Leesville Road Baptist Church and was very active and dedicated with the church.Mrs. Tyler is preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Paul Edgar Tyler. Mrs. Tyler is survived by 6 children, 5 brothers, 6 sisters, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous other loving family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Steve Tyler, Bryan Markusen, Bob Heider, Paul Tyler, Earl Johnson, and Larry Johnson.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Damon Williamson. A visitation will be held at Hudson Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday May 2, 2017 and other times at the home of Linda West at 8929 NC 157 Rougemont, NC 27572.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com. The family is under the care of Hudson Funeral Home.
