Thelma Williams Strayhorn

DURHAM- Thelma Williams Strayhorn, 95, of Durham died on Thursday, December 25, 2014. Mrs. Strayhorn was the daughter of the late Horace Clarence Williams and Nora Borland Williams. She was a homemaker, good cook and seamstress, she loved hummingbirds and her cat. She was a member of Durham Memorial  Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bruce Strayborn, Sr., four siblings and a grandson, Craig Harding.

She is survived by three sons, Roy Strayhorn, Jr. and wife Sherry, Larry Strayhorn and Tim Strayhorn and wife, Carol, all of Durham; two daughters, Jane Hassebrock and husband, Bob of Raleigh; and Betty Moore of Durham; and five grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler and wife, Hannah, Shannon, Christina and husband Jeremy, Nathan and three great-grandsons, David, Jacob and Ethan.

Graveside service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ed Denton will officiate.
