Theresa Lassiter

Theresa Cheryl Lassiter, 72, of Roxboro, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. She was born on May 12, 1952 at Watts Hospital in Durham, NC to the late Tommy and Lillian Hicks.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Baby Lassiter and her brother, Tommy D. Hicks, Jr.

Being born and raised in Durham, Theresa grew up in the Edgemont Community. She loved people and has always worked as a Customer Service Representative for Sears, Hudson Belk’s, Bullocks Bar-B-Que and the Family Dollar General.

Mrs. Lassiter was a longtime member of First Love Community Church. She loved listening to Gospel music especially The Mills Family. Theresa was certainly a people person; she was always very happy and had such a beautiful smile that could brighten anyone’s day. She dearly loved babies and her loving pets. 

Theresa also enjoyed being outdoors and going camping or you also could find her riding around in her golfcart. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sibling and grandmother who brightened so many peoples’ days.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jerry Lassiter whom she married on July 25, 1970; daughters, Tracy Lassiter and Vanessa Dillingham; sisters, Martha Green (Curtis) and Judy Lewter (Wayne); grandchildren, Gavin Bell and Garrett Cagle; her loving Chihuahua’s Bella and Trixie and rare orange cat Butterscotch and other loving family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at First Love Community Church, 512 US Hwy 70, Hillsborough, NC 27278. Rev. Greg Long will officiate.
