Thomas “Tom” Edward Parrish, Sr.

DURHAM Mr. Thomas Edward Parrish, Sr. 77, of Durham, died on Thursday, August 04, 2016.
Mr. Parrish was born in Durham County, the son of the late Elbert Addison Parrish and Ruth Alean Massengill Parrish. He retired after 30 years as a truck driver with Hughes Trucking Company. Tom was a fun person who people like to be around, he never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, many friends and the numerous people he met everywhere he went. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Eileen P. Winterstein; sisters, Helen P. Coston and Edna P. Mangum.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas Parrish, Jr. and wife, Maricela, David Parrish and wife, Hope; stepson, James Kelly Hogan; son-in-law, Allen Winterstein; brother, Harold “Pete” Parrish and wife, Dawn; sister, Joyce R. Reece; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and special friend, Judy King.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Rich Goodier will officiate.
