Thomas “Paul” Dean

June 26, 1934 — August 5, 2016

Thomas Paul Dean, 82, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2016, holding the hand of the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Gail Easter Dean.
Paul was born June 26, 1934 in Austinville Virginia to John and Iva Dean. He was a middle son of a family of 3 brothers and 4 sisters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, 2 sisters, and his son Mitch, who greeted him with open arms along with a team of baseball players ready to start the game with their much awaited 3rd baseman.
Paul enjoyed a lifetime career with Kroger for 43 years. He was the most incredible “fix it” guy who could build and repair anything. He loved the game of baseball and taught his sons how to be exceptional players. His true passion was the game of golf and he played as often as possible after retirement, until his health declined several years ago.
Paul is survived by his wife, Gail, son Tony, daughter Angie (“Sis”), grandchildren, Chris, Mitchell, Braxton, great granddaughter, Elaina, and the twinkle of his eye, granddaughter Marie, as well as his 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7 at Hudson Funeral Home with Pastor Martie Mangum officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Duke Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Dr #101, Durham, NC 27704.
Paul is now our angel in the stars.
