Venice Catherine Woolard Barbour

Venice Catherine Barbour, 76, of Durham, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Barbour was born in Johnston County to the late William Paul and Bessie Allen Woolard. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and was employed at Lab Corporation. Mrs. Barbour was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Earl Barbour. Surviving are three sons, Paul Barbour and wife, Karen, Bobby Barbour and Robin, and Rick Barbour and wife, Barbara, all of Durham; a daughter, Diane Pennington and husband, Tim ,of Durham; a brother, Mile Woolard and wife, Joy, of South Boston, VA; a sister, Annie Ruth Chandler and husband, Melvin, of Durham; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Mills officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at Hudson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
