Verlie Sue Poole

DURHAM Mrs. Verlie “Sue” M. Poole, 87, died May 24, 2016 with family by her side. She was born in Cocke County, TN and moved to Durham, NC in 1944. Sue was employed by Liggett & Myers Tobacco Factory for 37 years. She retired in 1983.
Sue enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the Grand Ole Opry, listening to live music and loved traveling with her family.
She is survived by her daughters Dale Ross and her husband, Carl; Linda Plourde and her husband, Bill; and Deborah Lynn and her wife April Baker. She is also survived by her grandchildren Clay O’Briant and his wife Cheryl; Ashley Ward and her husband Lynn; Jeff Plourde and Julie Plourde and her fiancée Algin Lineberry. Her great grandchildren are Savannah Ward, Olivia Ward, Cara O’Briant, Bria Pugh and her husband TJ, Matthew Plourde and William Flores. She also had one great-great grandchild, Hadley Mae Pugh.
At her request, a private graveside service will be held. Rev. April Baker will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Clay O’Briant, Carl William Ross, William Henri Plourde and Lynn A.
