Virginia Perry Shearin

DURHAM- Virginia Perry Shearin, 89, of  Durham died on Friday, March 20, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Matthew E. Perry and Winnie M. O’Neal. She attended Grove Park Chapel for many years.

She is survived by her husband of seventy two years, Millard Alford Shearin, one son, Wallace Millard Shearin of Burlington; two daughters, Jean Shearin of Durham; and Nancy Shuler and husband Barry of Hillsborough; one brother, Aldred Lee Perry of Rolesville; two sisters, Mary Rose Roper of  Marco Island, FL; and Grace Privette of  Youngsville; four grandchildren, Dr. Laura Brown and husband Dr. Joseph Brown, Robert Shearin and wife Lauren, Evan Shuler and Mason Shuler, one great-grandchild, Morgan Rae Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Grove Park Chapel, 605 Sherron Rd., Durham, NC 27703.  Pastor Dale Brooks will officiate. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. at Wake Cross Road Baptist Church Cemetery, 3328 Forestville Rd., Raleigh, NC 27616.

The family will receive friends on  Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.  one  hour prior to the services at Grove Park Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to: Deborah Pifer Shearin  Memorial Scholarship at Alamance Community College, PO Box 8000, Graham, NC 27253-8000.
