William Albany (Bill) Truesdell

DURHAM Mr. William “Bill” Albany Truesdell, 89, of Durham, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.Mr. Truesdell was born in Dothan, Ala., to the late Crandell Truesdell and Shelly Allums Truesdell. He retired from the U. S. Army and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the VFW Post 2740. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Truesdell; brother, C. S. Truesdell, Jr. and sisters, Jessie Anderson and Mattie Hayes.He is survived by his daughters, Joy Casper and Cathy Truesdell both of Roxboro; step-daughter, Ann Perkins of Durham; stepson, Jim Rochelle of Durham; brother, James Truesdell of Georgia; grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Christina Crabtree, Jamie Warren, Sara Garrison; great-grandchildren, Julian, Boyes, Holden Kipp, Vindan Kipp, Addisyn Smith, Casey Crabtree, Owen Crabtree and Alyssa Crabtree, Christian Smith, Karson, Smith, Paisley Warren, Carter Garrison and Oliver Garrison. Blessed with several nieces and nephews for whom he cared for deeply.Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Jack Cox. Burial with military honors will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
