William Arthur “W.A.“ Chappell, Jr.

GRANVILLE- William Arthur “W.A.” Chappell, Jr., 86, of Granville County died on Sunday, November 30, 2014. He was the son of the late William Arthur Chappell and Maggie Pearl Bunn Chappell. He retired from American Tobacco after 40 years of service. He was a farmer, loving husband, married 58 years. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, served as a Deacon and song leader. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Williams Chappell, daughter, Carolyn Greer, four sisters, Mildred Rigsbee, Margaret Flowers, Marie Chappell Stevens,   and A. Lee Chappell Mathers.

He is survived by his son Jerry Lynn Chappell (wife Gwen) of Stem; daughter, Gwendolyn D. Chappell of Creedmoor; brother, Earl Howard Chappell of Durham; three sisters, Mary Chappell Rigsbee of Orange Park, FL; Ruth Chappell Garrett of Durham; and Pat Chappell Latta of Cape Canaveral, FL; five grandchildren, Kim Greer, Brandi Greer, William Thomas Chappell, Zackary Chappell and Ashley Chappell.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Donnie Cash will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at 1083 Roberts Chapel Rd. in Stem, NC. Flowers are acceptable or donate to favorite charity. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
