DURHAM- William Jackson “Jack” Sherron Jr., 69, of Durham passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016. He was the son of the late William Jackson Sherron, Sr. Jack retired in May 2015 as an insurance agent after 40 years of service. Jack served in the National Guard for 7 years. He was a member of Oak Grove Masonic Lodge 750 and Shriner, Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir at Durham Memorial Baptist Church where he was a member. Jack loved his family, playing golf and going to the beach. He was preceded in death by his sister, Julie Sherron Painter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janice Sprinkle Sherron; his mother, Janet Harward Sherron; daughters, Jennifer Harrison and husband Chris of Raleigh, Jill Sherron-Taylor and husband Joe of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Janie Sherron, Jackson Taylor, Makayla Taylor, Evan Harrison, Eric Harrison and Emma Kate Harrison.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Durham Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Ed Denton will officiate. Burial will be in the Sherron Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be A.D. Pleasants, Mike Bagley, Mike Whitehead, Gary Scoggins, Ed Sitnik and Bruce Herbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at Durham Memorial Baptist Church.
