William Junior “Dub” Parsons

DURHAM Mr. William Junior Parsons, 85, “Dub Parsons”, passed from his earthly home on Wednesday afternoon, August 21, 2013. He was a member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church in Durham.

He was born to the late Lonnie and Lula Parsons in Clinton, on January 19, 1928 and was one of 12 children. He lived and worked in Clinton until 1959 when he moved to Durham and continued working as a carpenter. He loved to fish and playfully compete to see who could catch the first fish and the biggest fish.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Naylor  Parsons, they would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on September 3, 2013, and his children, Gene Parsons (Pam), and Ann Parsons Eaton (Bill), of Clinton and Faye Parsons Green (Charlie) of Stem; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and his loving cat, whom he named his “Buddy”.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 3 p.m. in the afternoon  at Cedar Fork Baptist Church at 5117 South Miami Blvd, in Durham. Reverend Ron Zedick will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Cedar Fork Baptist Church, at 2 p.m., one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will follow in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Chatham County in Apex, N. C. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Fork Baptist Church, 5117 South Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
