William Jasper “WJ” Mangum

DURHAM- Mr. William Jasper Mangum, 91, passed away Saturday March 18, 2017 at Duke Regional Hospital.
Mr. Mangum was born in Granville County, NC on August 12, 1925. He worked as a printer at Golden Belt Manufacturing for many years where he then retired. Mr. Mangum was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Senior Sunday School at Bible Baptist Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mr. Mangum is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Briggs Mangum; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zollie Mangum; sister, Hazel Briggs.
Mr. Mangum is survived by his son, Larry Mangum (Pam) of Durham; daughter, Linda Christian (James) of Bahama; sister, Jeanine Rayor of Oxford; granddaughters, Ashley Cook (Matt) of Raleigh, and Kimberly Edwards (Raleigh); grandson, Jason Mangum of Ohio; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Makenzie, and Madi Grace Edwards all of Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 22, 2017 at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Allison. A visitation will be held an hour prior from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
