William Linwood “Buddy” Manning

DURHAM- Mr. William Linwood “Buddy” Manning, 78, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019.
Mr. Manning was born on April 4, 1941 to William and Omie “Hall” Manning in Durham, NC. Buddy was a former member of Bible Baptist Church and member of Bethesda Baptist Church. He was an avid Duke fan and a founding member of the Spiritual Echoes Gospel Group. Buddy loved the Lord and was an incredible role model, as well as a Godly husband and father. He was the most amazing Papa in the world and will be dearly missed by his family.
Mr. Manning was preceded in death by his parents, William and Omie Manning; his wife of nearly 60 years, Carolyn Pridgen Manning; son, Ricky L. Manning; and sisters, Dorothy and Lucy. He is survived by his sons, Tony Manning (Kathy) of Durham, NC, and Mark Manning (Melissa) of Bahama, NC; sisters, Hazel Harrington of Melrose, FL, and Patsy Parrish of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Manning (Jana), Tori Manning, Jessica Goff (Bobby), Trey Manning (Kersey), Emma Manning, and Jacob Manning; great-grandchildren, Luke Manning, Mila Manning, Katie Goff, Hailey Manning, and Morgan Goff.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Bethesda Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Jonathan Barbee and Reverend Greg Allison. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Curry, Paul Taylor, Ricky Allen, Claude Stubblefield, Steve Hicks, and Gerald Gallimore. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Cabe. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
