Mr. William Harrison “Bill” Strickland, 86, of Durham, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, at Duke Regional Hospital.
Mr. Strickland was born January 11, 1937, in Sampson County, NC to the late Ronald Harrison Strickland and Annie Inez McLamb Strickland.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by brothers, Carl Strickland and James Baden Strickland; sisters, Mamie Altemose, and Delores Strickland; grandson Chad Hyde.
He is survived his wife of 65 years, Alma Walker Strickland; son, Quincy Strickland (Angela); daughters, Sharron Parker of Timberlake, NC and Tamra Webster (Ken) of Snow Camp, NC; brothers, Larry Strickland (Jane) of Durham and Roy Strickland (Fanny) of Oxford, NC; grandchildren, Wayne Strickland, Lorena Hyde, Melissa Westbrook, William Parker (Sam); great grandchildren, Zack Hyde, Daisy Hyde, Isabella Hyde, Douglas Westbrook and Mia Parker.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.
Officiating will be Reverend Hugh O’Shields.
Flowers are acceptable.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Hayes, Ricky Rigsbee, Shane Eubanks, Charlie Pollock, Zack Hyde, and Douglas Westbrook.
