DURHAM- Mr. William Franklin Vargo, 71, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020.
Mr. Vargo was born on May 27, 1949 to the late Annie Mae Vargo in Richmond, VA. He worked for Burlington Mills for 15 years and as a security officer for Carter Security Services, he was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church. William loved to fish and work on crafts, but he most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his friends and family.
Mr. Vargo was preceded in death by his brother-in-laws, James L. Pittman, Jr., and James Clyde Pittman. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rachel Pittman Vargo; step-daughters, Cathy Ann Riddle of Henderson, NC, Cynthia Elaine Moyers of Newport Ritchey, FL, and Carol Lynn Fortner of Newport Ritchey, FL and her pets Zeta, Tiberius, and Lavnia; brother-in-law, Frankie Pittman; sisters-in-law, Diana Moore, and Jane Carpenter; grandchildren, Robert Bledsoe, Mary Ann Padgett, Cheyenne Marie Bledsoe, Shannon Moyers, and Alexandra Moyers; and great-grandchildren, Tori Renee Padgett, Melani Bledsoe, and Genesis Bledsoe.
Visitation will be held an hour prior, Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Scott Gray. Burial will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Skipwith, VA. Pallbearers will be Samuel Carpenter, Tyson Carpenter, Chapin Akins, Robert Bledsoe, Ronnie Schackner, and Eddy Fuentes.
