William Yates Crabtree

William Yates Crabtree, 20, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer since 2017, at Duke Medical Center.

William was born February 12, 2001, to Angela Crabtree and the late Scott Crabtree in Raleigh, NC.  He loved fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and 4 wheelers.  He enjoyed watching movies and, most of all, loved spending time with his mother and family.  William was a gentle soul and a loving young man who was extremely strong willed and independent.  He was an old soul in a young body and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, James W. King and Mary “Pinky” Fuller; and his grandmother, Janet Hargrove.

In addition to his mother, William is survived by his brother, Dylan Crabtree; grandparents, Buddy Fuller, Phil Hargrove and Larry and Patsy Crabtree; uncles, Robbie King, Chris Hargrove and Brad Crabtree; aunt, Leslie Crabtree; his loving dog, Roxie; as well as other loving family members.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Dylan Crabtree, Matt Hall, Tyler Beebe, Daniel McElveen, Luke McElveen, Daniel Russell, Tyler Shuffler, and Davis Sampere.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.  Officiating will be Pastor Glenn Davis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Duke Pediatrics Brain Tumor Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
