Willie Lou Womble

Willie Lou Womble, 81, of Stem, NC passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022.  She was born on June 23, 1941in Durham, NC to the late Grady and Ruth Womble.

Ms. Womble worked for many years at Triangle Orthopedic where she met so many wonderful people over the years, whether a patient she assisted or her wonderful coworkers she greatly enjoyed her tenure there. 

Willie Lou was a longtime and faithful member of Open Arms Fellowship, where she deeply loved her church family.  In her younger years she enjoyed farming and especially traveling with her cousins who are more like her sisters and brothers.  Ms. Womble will be remembered as a compassionate, charitable and happy person, who had a strong personality with a will to help others’ and a deep faith in her Lord and Saviour.

Ms. Womble is preceded in death by her parents.  Willie Lou is survived by her cousin, Virginia Britt, and her daughter, Rachel Britt and her daughter, Felicity Brickles of whom Willie Lou had a special love for.  She is also survived by numerous other family members, church family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior, starting at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, 1288 Mt. Pisgah Church Rd., Apex, NC.  Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Al Sholar.
