Zachary “Zach” McGhee

Zachary “Zach” McGhee, 37, of Durham, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023.  He was born in Durham, North Carolina on May 6, 1986, to Greg McGhee and Kim Howard.              

Zach was a loving man who was a devout and passionate family man.  He enjoyed being around people especially his family and his loving fur baby Val.  Zach was a longtime time avid Duke Blue Devils fan. He worked for many years in the restaurant business and was currently working at Maggiano’s Little Italy Restaurant where he enjoyed meeting new people. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger.

Mr. McGhee is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tyree and Phyllis Moss McGhee and his maternal grandfather, J.S. Howard

Zach is survived by his mother, Kimberly Howard Naughton (Ervin Ray); father, Greg McGhee (Sherry); brother, Ryan McGhee; sister, Taylor Hines (Elijah); maternal grandmother, Ann Howard; uncles, Steve Howard (Laura Anne) and Patrick McGhee (Kara); aunt, Teresa McGhee (Jackie); cousins, Rachel Howard, Emma Howard, Jake Howard, Trinity McGhee and Broadie McGhee; special girlfriend, Heather Walton; fur baby, Val and many other loving family members and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Zach’s name to your local SPCA.
