Barry McGhee

DURHAM Barry McGhee, 72, of Durham, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013, with his family by his side.He was born to Louise McGhee and the late John McGhee, June 17th 1940, in Durham. Barry graduated from Southern High School in 1958 and served in the U. S. Navy from 1960 to 1964, spending the majority of his time aboard the USS Mahan. He married Carol Parrish in 1967 and resided in Durham for 46 years together. Barry loved spending time with his grandchildren and his favorite hobbies included playing in a band, fishing and quietly reading.Barry is survived by his wife, Carol Parrish McGhee; his mother, Louise Carr McGhee; two children, Tori Jones of Charlotte and Patrick McGhee of Denver; four grandchildren, Natalie, Audrey, Connor and Piper; brother, Alan McGhee and half-brother, Charles McGhee.A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cary.
