DURHAM Mr. Benjamin “Ben” Franklin Fish, 84, of Durham, died on Monday, December 25, 2017.
Mr. Fish was born in Wake County, the son of the late Paul Jason Fish and Beulah Dean Fish. He retired from Southern Electric Motor Company. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers Lesco and Melvin Fish and a sister, Tilda Chapel.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Merle Carlton Fish; three sons, James Paul Fish of Durham, Jason Allen Fish of Wilton and Jon Franklin Fish of Durham; two grandchildren, Jacob Fish and Hanna Fish; two great-grandchildren, Braylen Fish and Josiah Fish.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. David Duncan will officiate. Private burial will be in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jock Smith, Ray Parnell, Stephen Rigsbee, Dean Brooks, C. L. Ashley and Danny Tharrington.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., before the service at Calvary Baptist Church and other times at the home.
