Bertha Marie Huddleston

DURHAM-Mrs. Bertha “Marie” Huddleston known by her family and friends as Grannie “M”, 67, of 521 Snow Hill Rd. died on Monday, August 29, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Durham and was the daughter of the late Walter Fulton Haney and Bertha Jackson Haney. She retired from Weck Inc. Mrs. Huddleston was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ray Huddleston. She is survived by one son; Lester “Ray” Hayes Jr. (Wife) Lavonda of Timberlake; one daughter; Janet Marie Pridgen (Husband) Dennis of Oxford; two sisters; Tom Butler of Raleigh and Mary Jane Austin of Greensboro; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Johnny Haney will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Toney Ray Watson, CJ Tant, Josh Stanley, Walter Haney, Willard Smith and Quincy Strickland. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Hudson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
