CLAYTON, SR.DURHAM Mr. Bobby Maynard Clayton, Sr., 74, of 902 Andrews Chapel Road, died on Monday, May 3, 2010.Mr. Clayton was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Pervis Maynard Clayton and Hettie Ferrell Clayton. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Bobby Maynard Clayton III and Jennifer Jeanette Clayton. Mr. Clayton was a sheetrock finisher.He is survived by his son, Bobby Maynard Clayton, Jr. and wife, Judy of Durham; one daughter, Christie Clayton Cress and husband, Rodney of Concord; cousin, Leona Estelle Clayton of the home; brothers, Wallace B. Clayton and wife, Claire, Jerry Pervis Clayton and wife, Marion of Durham; one sister, Vivian Clayton Riggs and husband, Bill of Durham; grandchildren, Nathan Chad Wheeley of Hurdle Mills and Courtney Renae Clayton of Durham.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Clayton Family Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 902 Andrews Chapel Road. Flowers are acceptable.
